Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What type of data is available on this website?

The data for most products include information on value, quantity, reporting country, and trading partner country on both exports and imports classified in the Harmonized System (HS). Trade data is available at the 4-digit, and 6-digit levels, down to the most detailed levels provided by each country.

Q: Do I need an account or a password?

No. This information is freely accessible to all.

Q: Where did you collect the data from?

This data is the official reported trade data for each of our partner countries. We collect trade data annually from National Statistics Offices (NSOs). At a country level, NSOs receive information on import and export flows from Customs (usually every month). In many cases this information is provided in raw or paper form, which can create some difficulties for NSOs.

Q: Which countries’ trade data do you publish?

The database has targeted 14 countries: the Cook Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Fiji Islands, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
